The water footprint (WF) concept
مفهوم ردپای آب
► The WF is an indicator of water use that looks at both direct and indirect water use of a consumer or producer.
رد پای آب معیاری است که به میزان مستقیم و غیر مستقیم مصرف آب توسط یک تولید کننده یا مصرف کننده می پردازد.
► Water use is measured in terms of:
- water volumes consumed (evaporated or otherwise not returned)
- polluted per unit of time
آب مصرفی در این معیار مجموع آب مصرف شده و آب آلوده شده میباشد.
► A WF can be calculated for: رد پای آب برای موارد زیر قابل محاسبه است:
- process پروسه
- product محصول
- consumer مصرف کننده
- producer (e.g. a public organization, private enterprise)تولید کننده
- group of consumers (e.g. municipality, province, state, nation) کشور

آب محاسبه شده شامل آب سبز، آب آبی و آب خاکستری میباشد.

The water footprint has a spatial dimension, so it can be mapped. A water footprint map shows the volumes of water used at various locations, for example the water used worldwide to make the products consumed by a given community.
رد پای آب دارای یک بعد مکانی است. بدین معنی که ممکن است محل مصرف آب و محل مصرف محصول در نقاط متفاوتی قرار گرفته باشند.
